How to use the GDPR-module

The GDPR-module is a powerful tool that allows you to add and report on PII (Personal identifiable information) for each service. This feature is especially useful for companies that need to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union.

What is PII?

PII stands for Personal Identifiable Information. This includes any information that can be used to identify an individual, such as their name, email address, phone number, or social security number. It is important to protect this information and ensure that it is only accessible to authorized individuals.

How to add PII to a service

To add PII to a service:

  • Begin by navigating to the GDPR-module and select Activate, to turn on the GDPR-functionality.

  • Once activated, select any service you wish to add information on. Selecting a service redirects you to the GDPR tab of the service-page.

  • On this page, activate GDPR.

  • You can now easily select what type of data the service has access to, such as employee, customer, or other GDPR data.

  • Additionally, you can add if the service has access to sensitive information, encryption of data, or even if the service's data storage is GDPR-compliant.

How to report on PII

The GDPR-module allows you to easily download reports on PII for each service. This is useful for auditing purposes and ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations. To generate a report, simply select the Export File button on the GDPR page.

Conclusion

In summary, the GDPR-module is a valuable tool for managing and protecting PII for each service. By using this feature, you can easily add, report on, and filter services with access to sensitive information, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations and protecting the privacy of individuals.
