Insights from Substly's browser extension allows you to better understand how to optimize your digital work environment. By tracking usage in cloud-based software, you gain better visibility over your known softwares, in addition to increased awareness of unsanctioned services. The data also make it easier for you to stay correctly licensed and identify shadow IT across your organization.

The extension tracks URLs in our Vendor Database; for example, if you use Miro, Slack, or Figma via your browser, that information gets sent to Substly. No data is sent from the extension to Substly unless there is a match with a vendor in our database. The extension will not track if you read your online newspaper or access any other online information or website.

The browser extension lets you gain insights into:

  • Usage rates (how often and how much a service is used)

  • Adoption rates (how many that have access to a services that actually uses it).

  • Unused user accounts (identify user accounts that are not being used)

  • Unsanctioned usage (employees that are using services that they shouldn't have access to)

The extension is supported by and available to Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox
