Introduction

Managing your SaaS expenses can be challenging, especially when payments are spread across multiple sources like credit cards, invoices, or PayPal. Substly helps you monitor which services you pay for and how much you spend per payment method.

Tracking payment methods easily shows which subscriptions are linked to a specific card. This simplifies updating payment details before a card expires, preventing service disruptions and unnecessary downtime.

💡 Tip: The visual indicators and analytics in Substly help you quickly spot inefficiencies and duplicate payments,—saving you time and money. Plus, you’ll never be caught off guard by an expired card again!

Adding Payment Method

  1. Navigate to Payment Methods > Lists in the main menu.

  2. Click Add Method.

  3. Fill in the details for the payment method.

  4. Click Create.

Repeat this process for each payment method you want to track in Substly.

Editing or Deleting a Payment Method

  1. Navigate to Payment Methods > Lists in the main menu.

  2. Click the green pen icon in the top right corner of the payment method you want to edit.

  3. Make the necessary changes and click Update to save. To delete a payment method, click Delete.

Adding or Removing Services/Plans from a Payment Method

  1. Navigate to Payment Methods > Lists in the main menu.

  2. Click on the name of the payment method you want to update.

  3. Add services/plans by scrolling through the list or using the search bar.

  4. Click Confirm once you're done.

This ensures that your spending data remains accurate and up to date.

Viewing Monthly Spending Per Payment Method

You can track your monthly spending in two ways:

  • For an overview per payment method:

    • Go to Payment Methods > Lists to see the upcoming monthly cost per payment method, the number of plans linked to it, and other details such as owner and expiration date.

  • For combined spending data:

    • Navigate to Payment Methods > Statistics for an aggregated view of all your payment methods and total spending.
